An Important Team Update

Erebus Motorsport and PremiAir Racing have confirmed driver changes for the remainder of the 2026 season, in a move focused on strengthening the GM driver pathway.

Cooper Murray will see out the season behind the wheel of the second PremiAir Racing Camaro (currently #777), giving him the opportunity to continue building valuable Supercars experience while remaining within the GM Motorsports family.

Jarrod Hughes will move into the #99 Erebus Camaro for the remainder of the season, following an impressive period of development that has seen him emerge as one of the exciting young prospects of the sport.

Hughes has already gained Supercars experience as an enduro driver, but the move into the #99 car gives him his first full-time opportunity in the championship. It is an important next step for the young driver, and one Erebus sees as part of his longer-term future with the team.

Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan said Hughes had earned the opportunity through his progression to date.

“Jarrod has shown us enough throughout his time with Erebus to know there is something there worth investing in,” Ryan said.

“This is about giving him the chance to experience Supercars, learn the car and see how he handles the step up, but we’re also looking at Jarrod as a longer-term prospect for Erebus.

“He’s worked hard to get to this point, and we’re excited to see what he can do with the opportunity.

“For Cooper, the move to PremiAir gives him another opportunity to gain experience and continue developing as a driver. We’re confident both guys will benefit from the changes.”

PremiAir Team Principal, Roland Dane, firstly thanked Declan Fraser, who will vacate the #777 seat, for his contribution to the Team this year: “We’re grateful to Declan for his efforts this year in the Team, but we want to prepare ourselves for 2027 as early as possible and the opportunity to put Cooper into the car now cannot be passed up as it will only benefit our program development for next season. We wish Declan the best for the future.”

Peter Xiberras, PremiAir Team Owner, said: “We’re thrilled to have Cooper joining us. We’re looking forward to the balance of the year and will have more information to share in due course”.

GM Motorsports Supercars Racing Program Manager Simon McNamara said the manufacturer was pleased to support the changes and the continued development of both drivers.

"The changes reflect the positive and practical approach shared by all three organisations. Erebus Motorsport’s commitment to fostering future talent, PremiAir Racing’s support for driver development and GM Motorsports’ investment in the careers of emerging drivers have created an environment where opportunities can be aligned to help each driver progress,” McNamara said.
