Metalmaster by Hare & Forbes joins Erebus Motorsport for The Bend 500
Metalmaster by Hare & Forbes will take naming rights of Erebus Motorsport’s #9 Chevrolet Camaro for this weekend’s The Bend 500, with Jobe Stewart and Jarrod Hughes sharing the car for the 500-kilometre endurance event.
The partnership brings a genuine workshop connection to the Supercars grid, with Metalmaster machinery already being used by Erebus Motorsport’s fabrication team as they build, prepare and maintain the team’s race cars.
The unique livery has been designed to showcase the connection between the products and the people using them inside the Erebus workshop.
The livery incorporates a Metalmaster welding table as the foundation, with the Supercar chassis positioned above it, reflecting the machinery’s place in the fabrication process.
Hare & Forbes General Manager Rick Foster said the partnership was about more than simply putting branding on a race car.
“We’re pleased to support Erebus Motorsport, but it goes beyond a sponsorship. Metalmaster products are being used by the team’s fabricators as they build and prepare the Supercars, which is exactly the kind of environment we want our equipment working in.”
Marketing Manager Joseph Lenthall said the team wanted to bring the connection between Metalmaster and Erebus to life through the livery.
“The livery is a bit of fun. Rather than simply putting Metalmaster branding on the car, we wanted to show where our products actually belong,” Lenthall said.
“The welding table forms the base of the livery, with the chassis sitting on top of it, just like it would in a workshop.”
Metalmaster is Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse’s specialist range of metalworking machinery and equipment, developed for tradespeople, fabricators, workshops and serious metalworking enthusiasts.
Jobe Stewart will be joined by his former Super 2 team mate Hughes for this year’s enduros.
Hughes will have a busy weekend at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, competing in both the Supercars endurance event with Erebus as well as the Trans Am Series.
The Bend 500 will take place at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in South Australia from September 11-13.
