Brad Tremain returns to Erebus as Team Principal

Erebus Motorsport is excited to welcome back Brad Tremain as Team Principal with his return to the role coinciding with The Bend 500 this weekend.  

Tremain departed Erebus for a two year stint with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing after spending nine years with the team between 2016 and 2024, working his way up from number two mechanic to Crew Chief and Team Principal.

During his time with Erebus, Tremain was part of the team through a number of significant changes and periods of growth, including two Bathurst 1000 victories, a Teams Championship and a Drivers Championship.

Having spent two years away from the team, Tremain plans to approach the Team Principal role slightly differently, drawing on the perspective he gained in America, as well as from observing the team from a distance.

“Being in America, I’ve seen a different side of motorsport with big teams and big budgets and I’ve seen where their resources could be used more effectively,” Tremain said. 

“In the past, I focused more on the cars and working on the cars, whereas this time around I’m going to put more of my focus on the people running them.

“Improving car speed and reliability, getting the crew together and lifting morale will be my priority for the remainder of the year.”

On his decision to return to Erebus, Tremain said:

“Erebus is my home. Baz is a really good mate of mine and I want to go racing with him and the rest of the crew again. And l just love Supercars!”

Erebus CEO Barry Ryan is thrilled to welcome Tremain back to the team as Team Principal, confident he is the right person to lead the team forward.

“It is always nice when someone you like and respect comes home,” Ryan said.

“Brad is one of the most passionate racers I know. He has all the skills needed to run a race team, with mechanical, engineering and management experience gained largely during his nine years with Erebus.

“I know the skills he has learned during his recent time in IndyCar racing will make him an even bigger asset to Erebus. 

“Brad will be the best Team Principal in pit lane but also someone that is willing and able to do pit stops if required, his versatility is unquestionable.” 

While Tremain has already begun working with the team behind the scenes, he will officially resume his role as Team Principal at The Bend 500 this weekend, September 11–13.
