Stewart on upcoming Enduro Cup as main game driver
Erebus Motorsport driver Jobe Stewart is feeling confident heading into this year’s Enduro Cup, with improved performances in recent rounds building on his strong showing in the 2025 Enduro Cup.
After gaining valuable experience at both The Bend and Bathurst as a co-driver last year, Stewart believes the team is well placed to hit the ground running when the Enduros get underway.
“Having the success we had last year at The Bend and Bathurst, battling for the top five at both events and having the potential to win at Bathurst, gives myself and the whole team heaps of confidence heading into the enduros this year,” Stewart said.
“It will be good going into the weekend knowing what to expect and knowing what it takes to be up the front.”
Transitioning from co-driver to main game driver for this year’s Enduros is something that Stewart is embracing, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility within the team.
“I don’t really think there is much added pressure being a main driver this year compared to a co-driver, I will just have a different role. I will be more of a leader and will have more of an influence on the results,” Stewart said.
Whilst admittedly having a tough season so far, Stewart has reflected positively on the experience and views the challenges as an important learning opportunity.
“I’ve enjoyed the challenge so far and it’s probably the most I have learnt in any category in my career so far,” Stewart said.
Stewart is also confident in his co-driver pairing with former Super2 teammate Jarrod Hughes, with the pair’s previous experience racing together giving him confidence heading into the Enduros.
“Jarrod and I were team mates for a couple of years in Super2 so we know how we both operate and I’m super keen to team up with him for the Enduros,” Stewart said.
“It will also be great to have Cooper and Lochie alongside us in the garage to help progress both cars towards the front of the field.”
Stewart will be joined by Hughes next weekend for the first Enduro of the season at The Bend Motorsport Park, September 11-13.
